Since you re using heat transfer vinyl it s going to transfer with heat aka your iron or a heat press.

So if you want a longer lasting canvas project i would use heat transfer vinyl on canvas.
I do want to mention transfer paper really quick.
When using adhesive vinyl painting the surface is a must.

The best part is that heat transfer vinyl is easy to add to a reverse canvas.

You re going to need your heat press and or your iron warmed up.
I had never tried using heat transfer vinyl on a canvas before i was missing out.
I actually ended up using both and i ll explain why in a second.
Painting the canvas made a big difference.
The canvas i used was 24x18 so it fit perfectly on the plate and allowed the top plate to close down.
The only exception to this is when you are using glitter vinyl it needs a super sticky transfer paper.
Since it transfers with heat the vinyl can melt into the canvas and adhere better.
The whole canvas was dry in under an hour and paint could still be applied to it and holy of holy s the vinyl stuck.
In my experience htv is way better on canvas than adhesive vinyl.
Now grab your canvas.
It can be done.
Go to your machine s design canvas workspace and create your design.
Some of the transfer paper brands are entirely too sticky.
I think it was a beautiful addition to the wedding and it was such a sweet personal touch that didn t cost too much money.
Now that your canvas is prepped we are ready to stick on the vinyl.
But with a canvas there is a little give when you push on it and you want to be able to push firmly.
